Blue Ridge School District: A Rich History and Vibrant Present

Blue Ridge School District was established in 1958 by the merger of Great Bend Borough, Hallstead Borough, New Milford Borough, Great Bend Township, Jackson Township and New Milford Township school districts. It is located in Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania. From its humble beginnings, the district has grown to become a cornerstone of educational development in the region.

From rigorous academic courses to enriching extracurricular activities, the district strives to provide a well-rounded education that prepares students for success in the ever-evolving global landscape.  Blue Ridge is a recognized regional leader in Professional Development and pedagogy.  Our teachers are valued experts with extensive knowledge of best practices in Reading Apprenticeship, Advance Placement Instruction and Academic Intervention.  We currently offers eleven AP Courses and Dual Enrollment opportunities through Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Penn State University, and Johnson College.  Our graduates have the skills they need to succeed in the trades, college and the workforce.
